Encouragement
Encouragement in Scripture rarely arrives as cheerfulness. It tends to come as something sturdier and less comfortable: a reason to keep going when the results are invisible and the tiredness is real. What's striking about these passages is that none of them dispute the difficulty. Paul assumes you're weary in doing good rather than asking why. He admits outright that the outward person is wasting away, with no pretense that faith halts exhaustion or aging. David states plainly that hearts break and spirits get crushed. The encouragement isn't denial — it's what gets said next. That God is near to the brokenhearted rather than distant from them. That an unseen renewal runs underneath the visible wearing down, available daily rather than stockpiled. That the gap between sowing and harvest is long by design, and quitting during the invisible stretch is the only real failure. If you're worn out right now, you won't find cheerleading here. You'll find something more useful: permission to be tired, and reasons not to stop.
